Our Commitment to Safe Vaping
You can trust that DANK Dispensary cultivates clean cannabis with the end-user in mind. DANK is committed to cultivating top-shelf cannabis and making available only the best cannabis products in our dispensary. In our medical and recreational store, we represent products that met the highest standards and have passed independent contaminant testing to protect the health and safety of our customers. If you want to know if a cartridge is real or not, look for the lab-test on your next purchase. Verify a state-approved license manufactured the product. Understand what you are receiving by understanding the label. If you would like to know more about the testing procedures at DANK, please do not hesitate to ask a sales associate or a manager on your next visit to DANK.
Legal DANK Carts
DANK was a pioneer in the legal cannabis industry when we received a medical marijuana dispensary license in 2009. The rules in the legal market require license holders like DANK to complete a cannabinoid profile and pass a contaminant test. A costly undertaking, microbial, pesticide and potency testing cost the regulated industry thousands of dollars every month while the black market avoids this cost. Patients should protect their health by purchasing only products from the legal and regulated marijuana market. Our products have been laboratory tested, proven to be free of pesticides and contaminants like yeast, mold and ecoli. Our industry is required to affix laboratory test results on each product.
Illegal Vape Cartridges
Since the legal industry began, we have seen breakthrough creations that changed the perception of cannabis use in America. None have gained such widespread use as the personal vaporizer pen. In recent years, we’ve seen the “illicit market” utilizing the same advancements as the legal regulated market by selling vaporizer cartridges. They too are extracting oil from cannabis and filling the popular 510 cartridges. This has lead to confusion in the legal vs. illicit marketplace because vape carts look and taste the same, legal or not. If you are wondering if your vape cart is real or not, look to the label.
One popular black market brand, “DANK Vapes,” has created a buzz with cartoon designs and familiar flavors. They made their packaging available on Amazon so that any black market grower/processor/entrepreneur could package their own 510 cartridges inside. This was convenient to underground growers who could fill vape carts and insert them into pre-made cartridge packages that appear “legit” with fancy packaging and a recognized brand. The truth is, they act illegally by cultivating cannabis, extracting cannabis oil and selling cannabis without a state-approved license. They provide a disservice to the community by distributing unsafe products. Black market vapes have not been laboratory tested; they do not have safety standards. Private market vapes are untested, unregulated and could be contaminated. Additionally, we now know that serious health risks are associated with thinning agents like polyglycol, and Vitamin E Acetate (Vitamin E Oil or Tocopherol), commonly used in black market vapes. As a legal medical marijuana dispensary dedicated to safe consumption, we do not sell any products that contain polyglycol or vitamin E oil and all of our products are laboratory tested.
“Myron Ronay, the CEO of BelCosta Labs, a cannabis testing lab in California, tells Inverse that they often see black-market products that contain unsafe levels of myclobutanil — a fungicide. When myclobutanil is heated, it releases toxic fumes, one of which is hydrogen cyanide. Small amounts of HCN are released when smoking cigarettes, but larger doses are lethal. HCN was a major component of Zyklon-B, the gas used in Nazi gas chambers. Unregulated products have no one checking to see where that line is drawn.”
Know what is inside your vaping products and trust only the legal medical and recreational market to be truthful about the contents. We’re required to deliver safety and have standards in place to safeguard your health and that of our employees.
